About Mojubá

From the Yoruba emi -I; and Ajuba -Salute “I Salute”.

In the search for a name that has a meaning to our philosophical approach to Capoeira, i found that this word is profound and at the same time is simple, it means “I salute”, and it is used in African and African Brazilian ancestral culture. This connection with “wisdom of ancestral”  it is an essential part of our studies, not in its religiosity, but in its relation to the culture of Capoeira and the great Masters of the past and present.

Is a word that also symbolises a “Respect” and “Welcome”. That is the base for the enterprise of Mojubá, an attempt to strip away a segregated like behaviour of group, how ever it is also an opportunity to be in a group of people that share same passion.
